NATHAN RETURNS TO RISING SUN MD USA --by Dady Began posting on September 19, 2014
NOTE: When I first put the photos on this web page, I had enlarged them quite a bit. But just last night, February the 17th, 2016, I noticed that it was impossible to see the previously enlarged sections of the photos outside the normal text-photo column. Sorry about that. So now, I am working on reducing all the photos back down to the standard text-photo column size, so that the complete photo may be seen. This might take a while. Sorry about that too. So for the photos I have downsized to their original format, and for the ones I have yet to do so, follow these instructions-- To enlarge the photos & text, hold down "Ctrl" & press "+" one or more times as desired. To reduce the photos & text, hold down "Ctrl "& press "-" (to left of "+" key). Then, click on scroll bar at bottom of screen & drag it all the way to the right to see complete photos. I can enlarge 5 times on my widescreen laptop & still be able to see entire photo & text. It may be different for your computer screen.—
Nathan returned to the USA from Seoul, Korea, on Sunday, August 17, 2014. Micah picked him up at Dulles Airport, in D.C. Nathan stayed with Micah & Ruth, then at Joanna & Justin's house in Annapolis, MD. On August 23, Saturday, Seth drove there & brought Nathan back here to our house at Rising Sun, MD.
We'll get started with photos taken on Saturday, August the 23rd, 2014.

Now we begin the photos taken on Saturday, August 30th, 2014, when Joanna drove Nathan back to Rising Sun. She bro't her dog Tumnus with her. I took photos of Nathan in the yard. Later, Joanna Nathan, Seth & Caroline drove in Seth's car to the Delaware Art Museum in Wilmington. Tumnus & Dady stayed home.
Note: The letter "t" is missing in the 2nd word of the 1st line of the text for the photo below-- It should read: "I told Nathan about this little holly tree..."Note: In the photo caption above, the 2nd sentence-- "But it began to die"--I'm talking about the old Carolina poplar, not the one in the photo.Note: There are 2 mistakes in the caption above: 1. First sentence should read: "I told Mr. England not to worry about the old tree falling on our cars & that I liked that tree (& I didn’t want him to cut it down)." However, I didn't actually tell him not to cut down the tree, as it was not my tree. 2. In the 3rd line of the caption the word "blame" doesn't show up well. The line reads: "I couldn’t blame him for that, because he was thinking only of our safety." After this photo was taken, Nathan, Joanna, Ezra, Seth & Caroline went in Seth's new car to the Delaware Art Museum at Wilmington, DE. Joanna drove the car, I think. * * *
Back inside the house, I took 2 photos--
Two photos were taken inside the garage, maybe when I was walking Tumnus--
Now, back in the house for 2 more photos--
Next, Tumnus and I go on a long walk--Mr. Ralph Reisler now drives up from the S in his little truck. He pulls across to the W side of Thankful Lane, & parks on the grass beside Tumnus & me. He says, "You've got an audience," meaning the cows.We talk for 22 minutes.
He said he worked at the US Army's Aberdeen Proving Ground, at Aberdeen, MD for 30 years. He was an engineer & his job was designing missles, I believe he said. His job also required him to visit many other military sites overseas. He said he has been retired for 30 years.
I had spoken to Ralph once about 3 years ago, & had seen him several times when I rode my bike on Thankful Lane, but I didn't know his name till today.
He owns the property bordering the W side of Thankful Lane, about half-way to Hwy 273. On that property are a barn, fields & a pond. He said I could walk around his pond (which I had never done).
So when Joanna bro't Tumnus for a visit on September 21st, he & I walked around the pond 4 times. It's really nice there--a grassy border for walking all way round, & lots of wild flowers. Tumnus jumped into the pond twice, in water up to his neck, staying less than a minute each time.
After Ralph left, Tumnus & I walk on in direction of Ralph’s house. By the time we get even with it, Ralph is out in his front yard. It looks like he is setting out a flower bush or some kind of plant.
Tumnus and I walked on to the end of Thankful Lane where it intersects Hwy 273 (which goes E to Newark, DE, and W to the town of Rising Sun). I let Tumnus walk around in a large grassy corner there, & then we turned around & headed back home.
In the photo caption below, I left out the word "I" in the first line. It should read "Tumnus & I...."
Now we’ll begin looking at the photos I took (about 40 total) when Nathan visited here in Rising Sun on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Photos 7-47 will be the final set of photos in this project.
It was Ruth’s (Micah’s wife’s) birthday. It rained hard about half the day. Nathan arrived at our house at 3:36 p.m.
Now we begin our final 17 pix in this project--
Momy gets home from work & eats quesadillas. Then we all go out for a walk up & down the driveway--
Nathan left us at about 8:32 p.m. (about an hour after I took the photo above) and drove back to his apartment in Hyattsville, MD.
Now, for the final pic in this project, taken just after Nathan drove away--The End.
